Connected View is back in the studio recording our newest album which who knows when it will be done... still in the very early phases. This is our favorite part of the process - getting together and experimenting with sounds and finding the tone we want to put forth. these photos are from Musically Speaking studios in Blackwood, NJ. Highly recommended facility. We met there last week on several days to get some ideas flowing, and will meet for a few more sessions this winter until complete. as usual, we can't wait to share what we've been up to. the hardest part is being patient while all the tedious editing is being done. anyway, have great holidays out there.

Psychic Violence

Some stuff from our first band Psychic Violence. Made in 1999. Posted for my own sense of nostalgia. Even by our standards this stuff is not recorded well. We had no idea what we were doing. We just had a passion for sound and playing music together. We lived for our jam sessions. We were all in our early 20's and just starting to figure out what we wanted to do stylistically. Listening to these recordings fills me with so many emotions, mostly sadness and regret. Even though those days were magical and full of youthful discovery and unbounded joy that i can't even describe, it is heartbreaking to remember how much we loved and hated each other. And how much wishing we were more mature can not change the past. i think "excuses" is my favorite from this batch, seems to touch on the chord we were aiming for the best. Anyway, here is Psychic Violence.

Makoshika Video

New Blams

"Makoshika Video" was recorded last winter all over the country. Some of it at Charlie's house in NJ, some at Rising Star studios in Blackwood NJ, some at South Hills Music in Pittsburgh, PA, and some at my house at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. Most of the recording was done in the studios in Nov. & Dec. 2013. The album is a small fraction of what was actually recorded. As time went on we carved it down to our favorite takes and a theme started to emerge. We were watching an old video of our '01 trip to the badlands one night after a recording session and listening to the playback to it.  The video was a vhs tape.  we liked the juxtaposition and decided to dedicate this album to that experience. We also made some videos (below.)

jake & charlie played -
fender strat electric guitar
epiphone eb3 electric bass
various studio drum kits
korg N5ex synthesizer
korg mini synthesizer
samples recorded at badlands national park, south dakota
